At a special meeting on June 1, 2022, the APERS Board of Trustees elected to hire Amy Fecher as the agency’s executive director effective July 1.

The search for a new leader began in late March when former agency head Duncan Baird stepped down after three years of leadership at APERS. Deputy director Allison Woods is currently serving as interim executive director.

Fecher has extensive leadership experience in state government.  She currently serves as Secretary of the Department of Transformation and Shared Services.  Fecher has also served as Deputy Director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and as Director of the Department of Rural Services.
